The Scottish Labour Party in Angus
Born in Dundee in 1951, Marlyn Glen attended Kirkton High School.
She gained an MA (Hons) at St Andrews University and the M Ed teaching qualification at Dundee.
Marlyn worked first as a teacher of English and, after obtaining a Diploma in Special Education, worked latterly at Baldragon Academy as Principal Teacher of Learning Support.
An enthusiastic life-long learner, Marlyn went on to gain Open University degrees in Social Science and Psychology.
Marlyn is a member of the E.I.S and is a past President of the Dundee Local Association.
A Labour Party activist for many years, Marlyn was a member of the Party’s Scottish Executive and has been a North-East member of the Scottish Policy Forum since its inception.
Active for many years in the women’s politics of Scottish Labour, Marlyn currently convenes the Labour Party Women’s Caucus.
Marlyn has local government experience after being elected to represent the Blackshade Ward on Dundee District Council after a high profile by-election.
Married to the late Neil Glen for 30 years, Marlyn has two children, a daughter and a son.
Her interests include equal opportunities, education and aspects of environmental protection.
